Mixed media, mostly acrylic and pencil, on cradled wood panel. 16" x 20" signed by Midge

My Megalith.' A departure from my usual style. It's not my usual foxes or midgemen, but a real raw insight into my head. For a few years now, when deep in my darkest feelings, I end up drawing these megalithic floating rocks, seemingly with an essence of their own, floating silently, like something alien to this world. They, to me, represent the ever lingering feeling of of melancholy, or anxiety that follows me, even in my quietest, and most peaceful moments, it is there, like the black dog, but rather it's a giant, looming, violent but gentle presence. The hole in the rock, mirroring the metaphorical hole in my heart, which has been a part of my work for a long long time. The crows flit and fly around the rock, perhaps they are the anxious intrusive thoughts..
